our morning ritual, with a little more Texture.
With notes of milk chocolate, caramel and nuts, Texture brings a comforting character to your daily coffee. Here’s a simple starting point for brewing our Brazilian coffee at home.
You’ll need
-
Kaffirost Texture coffee
-
A moka pot
-
Fresh drinking water, filtered if available
-
A grinder, set for moka brewing: slightly coarser than espresso
1. Fill the base
Add water to just below the safety valve, following your moka pot’s instructions. Never cover the valve.
2. Add your coffee
Fill the basket loosely to the top and level the surface. Don’t press or tamp the grounds. Your pot’s basket determines the dose, so there’s no need to force in a fixed number of grams.
3. Assemble
Clear any loose grounds from the rim and screw the pot together securely.
4. Brew gently
Place on a low to medium heat. On a gas hob, keep the flame beneath the base. Aim for a gentle, steady flow.
5. Finish before vigorous sputtering
When the flow turns pale and begins to sputter, remove the pot from the heat. Avoid leaving the finished coffee boiling on the hob.
6. Stir and enjoy
Gently stir the coffee in the upper chamber before pouring. Enjoy it black, add a little hot water for a longer cup, or serve with warm milk.
Fine-tune your next cup
If it tastes bitter or harsh, try gentler heat and an earlier finish. If it still tastes bitter, try a slightly coarser grind.
Let the pot cool completely before opening and cleaning it.
Make Texture part of your morning ritual.
